Renée is an active member of the Louisiana State Paralegal Association, for which currently serves as President-Elect. She is the recipient of LSPA’s 2015 Outstanding Paralegal of the Year award. She served as Second Vice-President for 2013-14 and 2014-15, and as CLE Chair for 2013-15.
Renée is a native of New Orleans and a graduate of the Louise S. McGehee School. She pursued a BFA at Newcomb College, Tulane University, and later attended Tulane University’s Paralegal Studies Program where she was named to the Dean’s List.
Renée briefly worked for a New Orleans law firm until she moved to Alexandria, LA. There she obtained a real estate sales license and became a Notary Public. She bought, renovated, leased, and managed residential property in Rapides Parish for many years. She was subsequently employed as a paralegal for eight years specializing in personal injury and succession proceedings as well as assisting her employer, an attorney panel chairman, with organizing med-mal panel hearings.
Since moving to Baton Rouge, Renée has worked as a paralegal and accounting assistant to a CPA/JD for seven years, mainly in the areas of payroll accounting and transactional law. For one year, she concurrently assisted another attorney with curator ad hoc proceedings. She attended LSU and earned both an Accounting Specialist Certificate and a Certificate of Paralegal Studies, graduating from the latter program as 4.0 honor student.
Renée is also involved with the Baton Rouge Paralegal Association for which she served Treasurer and Executive Board member for 2013-14 and 2014-15. She has participated in BRPA’s Audit, Community Involvement, Program, and Scholarship Committees.
Renée and her husband Michael and have three children between them: Bradley, a police officer; Ashley, an attorney; and Benjamin, a student at Tulane Law School. They are the proud grandparents of four grandchildren and the doting “parents” of four pugs.
